About R Joinery
Skilled, dependable joiners delivering quality without compromise
Who We Are
R Joinery is a small, professional team of experienced joiners based in Manchester. Founded by Rick Houghton, a joiner specialising in high-end work since 2010, the business has grown through word of mouth and repeat work — thanks to our focus on quality, trust and the kind of finish people remember.
We’re not a big firm. And we don’t try to be. What we offer is personal, skilled, and built on years of experience. We’re hands-on with every job, from the first phone call to the final clean-up.
What We Do Differently
We’re joiners first — and we care about the craft. Everything we do is guided by a few simple but important principles:
- Detail matters — from fixing to finishing, everything has to be right
- We don’t leave a mess — we work clean, and we tidy up properly
- It has to look right — aesthetics aren’t an afterthought, they’re built in
- We treat every project with care — whether it’s one door or a full home renovation
That’s why so many homeowners, landlords and developers trust us with their properties — and why we’re regularly asked back.

Our Team
We’re a small group of experienced tradesmen, all qualified and committed to doing good work. We’re not the type to show off — but we do stand by what we make.
We’ve delivered everything from multi-room HMO conversions to bespoke wardrobes, garden joinery and full refurbishments — all with the same attitude: get it right, make it last, and make it look great.
Our Process
Every project begins with a conversation — no pressure, no upsell. Just a clear, honest breakdown of what’s possible, what it’ll take, and how we’ll get there.
We’re happy managing jobs from start to finish or working alongside other trades. Either way, you can expect:
- Clear communication
- Realistic timescales
- Precision joinery
- A finished space we’d be proud to put our name to
Built for our clients — delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
